Alpha Nomos launches tomorrow on PC: requirements and which GPUs run it

Alpha Nomos, the rhythm-action game from RibCage Games, comes out tomorrow, October 12, on Steam. You play as Cello against an army of murderous puppets, and the game rewards you for striking on the beat; the powerups you collect each run change both how you fight and how everything sounds. It lands the same day Steam’s Playtime Horror Showcase wraps up, which runs October 5 to 12 and includes the game. Good news for modest PCs: the minimum asks for a GTX 1050 or an RX 560 and 8 GB of RAM. The recommended spec climbs quite a bit higher, though, up to an RTX 2070 or an RX 6600.

These are the official requirements from the Steam page:

Both tiers require DirectX 12. For now the game is Windows only: the Steam page lists no Mac or Linux version.

Which graphics cards run it

With a minimum this low, every popular card we checked clears it. The difference shows up against the recommended spec, which is what canirun’s grade measures (assuming 16 GB of RAM, the same amount the recommended spec asks for):

GTX 1650: clears the minimum but grades F against the recommended. The game will launch, but expect to lower settings and still struggle.
RTX 3050: grades C against the recommended. It sits between the minimum and the recommended, so it’s tight.
RTX 3060 and RX 7600: both grade B, meaning they meet the recommended spec.

What about Steam Deck?

Valve hasn’t verified it yet. Our estimate, based only on specs, gives it an F and puts it below the minimum. That’s an on-paper calculation, not a hands-on test: once Valve rates it, you’ll see it on the game’s Steam Deck page.
