Japanese Ramen Simulator is out in Early Access: PC requirements and which GPUs run it
Japanese Ramen Simulator launched in Early Access on Steam on October 9. Here are its PC requirements, which GPUs clear the minimum and recommended specs, where the Steam Deck stands and what the first patches changed.
In this guide 5
Japanese Ramen Simulator launched yesterday, October 9, in Early Access on Steam, after Wild Dog pushed back its original September 28 release. It is a ramen shop management sim for up to six players in online co-op, or solo with hired NPC staff. It costs US$12.74 with a 15% launch discount off the US$14.99 regular price, it arrived with over 200,000 wishlists and it has 3,086 concurrent players right now. It is Windows only, and the key detail for your PC is that even the minimum spec asks for a graphics card with 6 GB of VRAM.
Japanese Ramen Simulator PC requirements
These are the official requirements from the Steam page:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GTX 1060 or RX 580 (6 GB+ VRAM) | GTX 1660 or R9 390X (6 GB+ VRAM) |
| CPU | Intel Core i5 | Intel Core i7 |
| RAM | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| Storage | 10 GB | 10 GB |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
The minimum calls for DirectX 11 and the recommended for DirectX 12. Both need a broadband internet connection. Wild Dog does not name a CPU generation, only Core i5 and Core i7.
Which GPUs run it
Canirun grades are measured against the recommended requirement and assume 16 GB of RAM:
- GTX 1060 6GB: clears the minimum but not the recommended. Against the recommended it grades C (Tight), so it gets in with little headroom. See what else the GTX 1060 6GB runs.
- GTX 1660 Super, RTX 2060, RTX 3050 and Arc B580: clear the recommended with a B (Solid). Games for the GTX 1660 Super.
- RTX 3060, RTX 4060 and RX 7600: grade A (Smooth), comfortably above the recommended. Games for the RTX 3060.
- GTX 1650: by our data it falls below the minimum.
On memory, 8 GB puts you right at the minimum; the recommended asks for 16 GB.
What about Steam Deck?
Valve has not rated it yet. Our spec-based estimate gives it an F: on paper, the Deck falls below the minimum. That is only an estimate built from the listed requirements, not a real test. You can see the details on the game’s Steam Deck page.
What the first patches brought
The studio has already shipped two updates. The Day 1 update (v0.1.48.17626) added Tantanmen, a new ramen variety, Garlic Chives as a new ingredient and dish-clearing staff, one of the most requested additions during the closed beta.
Today’s v0.1.50.17746 matters more for your PC: it adds safeguards against a crash when retrieving player icons if Steam fails to load, against another when closing the loading screen after a failed map transition, and against issues loading lighting data on certain systems. It also makes the Auto language setting pick English when your PC’s language is not supported by the game.
Can your PC run Japanese Ramen Simulator?
Here is how your hardware grades against this game and against Supermarket Together, another co-op shop sim:
| Game | Rec. GPU score | Rec. RAM | Min. RAM | Your PC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| | 11,250 | 16 GB | 8 GB | ? |
| | 12,550 | 16 GB | 8 GB | ? |
If you come up short, the full game page shows how your GPU grades and which upgrade helps most.
