Order of the Sinking Star launches tomorrow: PC requirements and which GPUs run it
Order of the Sinking Star, Jonathan Blow's new puzzle game, launches October 8 on Steam. Here are the minimum and recommended PC requirements, which popular GPUs clear them, and how it does on Steam Deck.

Order of the Sinking Star, the new game from Jonathan Blow (Braid, The Witness), launches tomorrow, Thursday, October 8, on Steam. In some regions it arrives Friday, October 9. It also comes to Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. It costs $29.99 and packs over 1000 handcrafted puzzles. The good news for PC players is that it asks for little: the minimum is a GTX 1050 Ti with 8 GB of RAM, and it needs 14 GB of free storage.
Starting at launch, there are also bundles at 10% off: with Mewgenics, with Animal Well, or with the original soundtrack.

The GPU names are copied exactly as Steam lists them, including the GTX 2070 Ti and Arc B5700 in the recommended column. Both tiers require DirectX 12. On Steam the game is Windows only, with no Mac or Linux version.
Which cards run it
Every popular GPU we checked clears the minimum, so almost any gaming PC from the last several years will launch it. The differences show up against the recommended spec, which is what canirun grades measure (assuming 16 GB of RAM):
- Meet the recommended: the RTX 2060, RTX 3060, RX 7600 and Arc B580 grade B (Solid). The RTX 4060 and RX 9070 XT grade A (Smooth), and the RTX 5070 grades S (Overkill).
- Tight: the GTX 1660 Super and RTX 3050 clear the minimum and grade C (Tight) against the recommended.
- Clear the minimum but struggle: the GTX 1650, GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580 grade D (Struggles). The game runs, but expect to lower your settings.
On memory, 8 GB gets you to the minimum. The recommended spec needs 16 GB.
What about Steam Deck?
On September 15 the studio announced that the game received Steam Deck Verified status, with controls and UI tailored for handheld play. The details are on its Steam Deck page.
