Silver Pines launches tomorrow on PC: light requirements and which GPU you need

Silver Pines, the survival horror game from Wych Elm and Team17, launches October 8 on Steam. It asks for a GTX 660 Ti, 8 GB of RAM and 5 GB of storage. Here is which popular GPUs clear the minimum and recommended, and how it fares on Steam Deck.

Silver Pines, the survival horror metroidvania from Wych Elm and Team17, launches tomorrow, October 8, on Steam. If your PC is a few years old, the news is good: its requirements are very light. It asks for a GTX 660 Ti at minimum, 8 GB of RAM and just 5 GB of storage. The demo stays up until launch day, so you can try it before you pay.

Silver Pines PC requirements

These are the official requirements from the Steam page:

There are two details worth knowing: both tiers require DirectX 12, and the recommended tier lists Windows 11. RAM does not go up between minimum and recommended, so 8 GB covers both. The game is Windows only: the Steam page has no Mac or Linux version.

Which GPU you need

Every popular card we checked clears both the minimum and the recommended. canirun grades are measured against the recommended requirement, assuming 16 GB of RAM:

GTX 1650: meets the recommended with a B (Solid). It is the only card on the list with that grade, and it still passes.
GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580: an A (Smooth), with room to spare.
RTX 3060 and up: an S (Overkill).

What about Steam Deck?

On September 8 the studio announced on Steam that Silver Pines is Steam Deck Verified. You can follow it on the game’s Steam Deck page.

Price and pre-orders

Pre-orders on Steam opened on October 1. The game is priced at $24.99. The Deluxe Edition adds the artbook and the soundtrack and is priced at $31.99. Both get an extra 10% launch discount on Steam that runs until October 22. Ahead of launch, Silver Pines passed 300k wishlists across Steam and consoles.
