Xbox announced today, October 7, the first wave of October games for Game Pass, and almost all of them also come to Xbox Cloud Gaming. Here is what matters if your PC is getting old: Battlefield 6 and Valor Mortis, two of the heaviest games on the list, can be streamed from October 13, with no work for your graphics card. On October 5 we told you which GPU you need for Gears of War: E-Day and the option to play it in the cloud. This wave adds more games to that same plan.
What’s coming to Game Pass and the cloud
According to Xbox Wire, all of these games are part of Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and all except Beyond These Stars also come to the cloud:
- October 8: Echo Weaver, Forever Ago and Neon Abyss 2 (the last one also on Game Pass Premium).
- October 13: Battlefield 6, Deep Dish Dungeon and Valor Mortis.
- October 15: Bluey’s Happy Snaps and Chained Beasts.
- October 16: Beyond These Stars, but on PC only. It is not listed for the cloud, so you will have to run it on your own machine.
Already available, also in the cloud: Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons II and Shape of Dreams. With Battlefield 6, Xbox notes that Game Pass Ultimate includes EA Play plus 10% off eligible EA digital purchases. And Asphalt Legends gets in-game benefits: the Ford GT MKII, 250 tokens and 250,000 credits.
Which ones to play in the cloud
This is where canirun’s data helps. Every game has a recGpuScore, the benchmark score of its recommended graphics card: the higher it is, the heavier the game. Here is how the ones on this list that are in our catalog line up:
- Valor Mortis: 26,500, the most demanding of them all.
- Gears of War: E-Day: 25,500.
- Battlefield 6: 16,450.
- Forever Ago and Minecraft Dungeons II: 9,500 each.
- Shape of Dreams: 8,600.
- Asphalt Legends: 2,750.
The ones at the top are the obvious cloud picks if your graphics card is a few generations old. The ones at the bottom ask for much less, and each game page tells you whether your PC runs them installed. If you want more light options, check the games for low-end PCs. And if you want to play from your phone, this guide covers how Xbox Cloud Gaming works there.
What leaves on October 15
Xbox also listed what is leaving the library: A Plague Tale: Requiem, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Crime Scene Cleaner, Donut County, Evil West, Nova Roma (Game Preview), Pacific Drive, Superball and The Casting of Frank Stone. If you are in the middle of one, you have a few days left.
Can your PC run this wave?
